I am troubled by that. Maybe other people are not. But it happens to be against the law not to pay Social Security taxes. It happens to be against the law if you do not pay those taxes. It is not optional. It is not a maybe thing. We are not talking about a babysitter. We are not talking about somebody who works 1 day a month or somebody who comes in occasionally. We are not talking about an illegal. undocumented person. We are talking about a U.S. citizen who worked for Dr. and Mr. Elders for care of his mother. who has Alzheimers.
