Mexico have been struck with cholera. and experts say it Is only a matter of time before it is found in the colonies on the El Paso side of the border. While the colonla residents may be the first victims of cholera or hepatitis. another disease that runs rampant through the colonies. the border region Is not an isolated community. It Is a community that Is visited by tourists and winter residents from northem areas of the United States and it Is home to migrant farm workers who follow the crops season throughout the country. This raises the possibility that infectious diseases such as cholera and hepatitis could spread far beyond the border States. The only solution that will aliow us to finally put the threat of these Third World diseases behind us is to provide tho water and wastewater facilities that most Americans take for granted.
