I have that bill ready to go when we finish our work on the issue of illegal immigration. The issue is the McGovern amendment. providing for a waiver of exclusion. is already in force to take care of these people. The waiver works. I shall tell you how it works. Last year. there were 26.000 people covered under these exclusionary provisions and 25.400 of them were admitted with a waiver. So only 600 people were ultimately excluded from the United States out of the 26.000 originally excluded because the McGovern amendment does work.
