Senator STAFFORD. and their staffs for their efforts to bring this legislation to conference. Although the Senate did not pass separate legislation on each and every program reauthorized in these education amendments. we did give each reauthorization proposal full consideration. The programs reauthorized and amended in this legislation are Adult Education. Bilingual Education. Impact Aid. Indian Education. Womens Education Equity. Asbestos School Hazard Detection and Control. Emergency Immigrant Education. the National Assessment of Educational Progress. the National Center for Education Statistics. General Assistance for the Virgin Islands. and Territorial Teacher Training. Additionally. this legislation reestablishes the Office of Migrant Education within the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education and provides other technical amendments.
