This program has helped millions of adults learn reading and writing skills and to become more productive members of our society. I am happy that this program will be continued for 4 more years and want to thank the House conferees for picking up these very important provisions. This bill continues several other education programs for 4 years: The Bilingual Education Act. and the Impact Aid Program. It also reauthorizes for 5 years the following: Immigrant Education. Indian Education. and the Womens Educational Equity Act. I believe we have reached balanced authorization figures for these programs as well as some good structural changes.
