I can yield an additional 30 seconds to the gentleman. Mr. Chairman. I say to the gentleman once again that I want to remind my friend. the gentleman from New Mexico. that there is nothing in the committee bill that provides for independent local enforcement of Federal immigration law. There is nothing there. The gentleman has set up a straw man. and he is kicking the straw man to death. There is no such thing. That is why I could not support the gentlemans amendment. There is no such thing in the bill. The gentleman is creating a straw man out of whole cloth.
