On the one hand. the United States is the predominant recipient of Mexicos exports. on the other. Mexico is more and more becoming a key consumer of U.S. goods. machinery. and services. Let me emphasize that I do not think there is any immediate danger of a Communist takeover in Mexico. At the same time. it would be naive to think that Mexico. given its current and projected levels of poverty and unemployment. which in turn have helped unleash a flood of illegal aliens into this country in recent years. is immune from Communist activity.
