I rise in support of House Concurrent Resolution 196. proposing a study for a United StatesMexican peopletopeople program. The significance of close. cooperative relations between the United States and Mexico cannot be underestimated. The issue of undocumented workers in the United States. many of whom come from Mexico. continues to place a strain on the U.S. economy and a strain in relations between the United States and Mexico. A broadranging. effective solution must be found to the illegal immigration problem. It calls for imaginative. comprehensive approaches and a willingness to consider a variety of alternatives. The peopletopeople program proposed by the gentleman from Colorado
