The Federal Bureau of Investigation. the National Crime Information Center. and the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration were among the organizations within the Department of Justice that were reviewed by the Judiciary Committee. The Attorney General on January 30. 1980. transmitted a detailed request for authorization of appropriations of $2.664.546.000 for fiscal year 1981. This amount had been approved by the Office of Management and Budget and reflected the Presidents fiscal year 1981 budget for the Department of Justice.
