I believe it is incumbent upon the President to make clear the position of the United States with regard to these sanctions against Iran. What is the position of the United States with regard to the order that the Iranian Embassy here in Washington be limited in number of personnel? What is the position of the United States with regard to the continued presence of Iranian students in this country who should not be here in the first place since they have violated the terms of their visas. I hope that the President will clarify these issues so that our friends around the world will be prepared to join us in those sanctions. including breaking relations with Iran if all else fails to secure the release of our hostages.
