Mr. President. the distinguished Republican leader and I have been in conference yesterday afternoon and today. and we have reached agreement and have notified the chairman and ranking members of the following committees that we would appreciate their keeping their committees in session today and tomorrowand. if need be. on Fridayto comply with the requests made by the President of the United States. The committees are the Committee on the Judiciary. with Senator EASTLAND as chairman. having to do with the legal aspects of the refugee question raised by the President. the Committee on Armed Services. under Senator STENNIS. having to do with the increase in military appropriations for Vietnam requested by the President. the Committee on Appropriations. under Senator MCCLELLAN. having to do with increased requests and pending requests for both economic and military assistance. and the Committee on Foreign Relations. under Senator SPARKMN. which has to do with a number of questions relative to the requests made by the President. There will be no business of substance conducted today.
