Speech #930202093

Mr. Speaker. I have brought to the attention of the House on many occasions the plight of Soviet Jewry and the persecution these people have experienced in trying to exert their right to emigrate to another country. Today. however. I wish to speak about another facet of discrimination that these people have experiencedthe desecration of their cemeteries. I have been informed that the Soviet ministration in several cities in East1 Europe has been destroying sites of wish cemeteries to make way for ildings. In some instances. moreover. e removal of these burial sites has also cant the destruction of historical sites ch as the graves of the great Yiddish ters Mendel Mocher Sesorim and mon Frug.
