Speaker. to the thousands in the Hudson Valley who knew him as "Joe" Resnick. the death of our former colleague and my predecessor who served in the 89th and 90th Congresses. at such a young age. is a deep tragedy. I am personally saddened by the news. In his brief 44 years. Congressman Resnick. the son of immigrants to this country became a millionaire. In his lifetime his tremendous energy and native ability led to a number of significant inventions. the creation of a business empire. and finally to the Halls of Congress. He was a rare individual and we who knew him and the country will be poorer by his death.
