The subcommittee heard testimony showing that apparently on November 5. 1962. imposters had established bank accounts in the City National Bank of Beverly Hills. Calif.. in the names of members of the royal family of Iran. Accounts were set up in the name of Prince Mahmoud Reza Pahlavi and Princess Fatemeh Pahlavi by two persons. a man and a woman. who claimed to be the Prince and the Princess. respectively. at a time when. to the best of our ability to determinewhich immigration records substantiateneither the Prince nor the Princess was in the United States. The Prince and Princess are close relatives of the Shah. The bank employee who received the account from the woman representing herself as the Princess positively identified Miss Mariam Kushan as the person who opened the account and signed the bank signature card which was filed as an exhibit along with the signature of Miss Kushan which was written in the presence of the subcommittee.
