These people are still eager for the right of selfdetermination and selfgovernment. They continue to pray for liberty and the dignity of freedom. Their opposition to Communist rule has continued unabated despite mass deportations and attempts by their Communist masters to destroy their national culture and their passion for independence. The 42d anniversary of their founding as a free republic is therefore an appropriate occasion for America and the free world to give expression to our symCVI--66 pathy with their aims and objectives to attain their freedom once again. We join heartily in condemnation of the system that has enslaved them and the other unwilling prisoners of communism behind the Iron Curtain.
