First. there will be 8.000 persons admitted annually under the amendment of the displaced persons bill. That is certainly not to be disregarded from any point of view. There will be 5.000 orphans who will come in under the Refugee Act. and that is a group for which I have been particularly strong all along. The Senator from Minnesota. who is now present on the floor. will remember that after his original amendment relating to orphans had been rejected. I helped him line up support to reconsider the matter. so that orphans could be brought into this country under the displaced persons bill.
