Speech #840073901

Mr. Speaker. Congresswoman EDITH NouRSE ROGERS has established many precedents during her 30 years of outstanding service in this House. The rollcall of her achievements is long and- distinguished. We who represent the Commonwealth of Massachusetts are particularly proud of her because she is a pioneer in every sense of the word. with the conscience. the integrity. the independent judgment. and the brave vision of the first settlers who stepped ashore at Plymouth Rock. the patriots of Concord and Lexington. the Yankee merchants and sea captains. and the immigrants from every country in the world who have brought variety and vitality to the great State of Massachusetts.
