I believe that we should indefinitely postpone the admission of Hawaii into the Union as a State. I do not know how long it should be postponed. I am not seeking merely to put something off. We are already committed far beyond our ability to deliver. with respect to money. materiel. and manpower. I see no formidable force in all of Asia which is capable of stopping the spread of what I call Asiatic communism. I think there is a great difference between Asiatic communism and Russian communism. But it is on the move. We stopped it in Korea. We established a battle line and held it. but we did not crush anything.
