Japan has no army and no navy. Korea has the soldiers I have mentioned. but the substantial burden of any war which might be fought would have to fall upon us. not only with respect to money and materiel. but with respect to manpower. So in view of those facts. in view of the serious situation I have already mentioned. in view of the influence of communism in Hawaii and the prospective influence and development of Asiatic communism in Asia for the next 50 years. I seriously submit that we ought to rethink the entire statehood problem. Until the situation clears up.
