Is there objection to the request of the gentleman from Maine? There being no. objection. the Clerk read the bill. as follows: Be it enacted. etc.. That in the administration of the immigration laws. and notwithstanding the provisions of section 12 of the Immigration Act of 1924. as amended. William L. Cunliffe. of Montreal. Canada. who is of English descent. father of Bruce Ferguson Cunliffe. a citizen of the United States. shall be deemed to have been born in Canada rather than in India. where his parents were residing at the time the said William L. Cunliffe was born. The bill was ordered to be engrossed and read a third time. was read the third time. and passed. and a motion to reconsider was laid on the table.
