Session #80 · 1947–49

Speech #800108275

I would ask the chairman of the Armed Services Committee to appoint one or more. and the chairman of the Appropriations Committee to appoint one or more. When the question is asked as to how many should go abroad. I cannot see that it is possible to say anything but that as many as possible should go abroad and see those people. see what kind of people they are. and whether they are fitted for our type of civilization. It is a broad subject of national policy. and not simply a question of immigration law and protection of the people who come to this country through the gates of immigration.
