Session #75 · 1937–39

Speech #750058446

It appears that tomorrow we have on the calendar a bill from the Committee on Immigration. but I find from the calendar an hour and 45 minutes of speeches are ahead of the consideration of this bill. Therefore. it does not work both ways. It seems to me some Members are getting preference over others. If I have to make a speech. I am willing to make it and abide by the rules of the House. I think it is wrong to have Members get consent to take up 2 hours ahead of the business of a committee. However. I am willing to abide by any rule the House is willing to make.
