Speech #CREC-2017-10-23-pt1-PgH8052_t12

Speaker, I yield myself such time as I may consume. Mr. Speaker, I rise today in support of H.R. 3551, the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism Reauthorization Act of 2017. The Customs- Trade Partnership Against Terrorism, or C-TPAT, is the U.S. Customs and Border Protection's flagship global supply chain security program. C- TPAT is recognized throughout the world as the premier cargo pre- vetting program. My legislation reauthorizes the program for the first time in 11 years to ensure that the program is ready to meet the dynamic threats currently facing the global supply chain, and that C-TPAT participants receive tangible benefits for their partnership with CBP.
