My message to Secretary Chertoff last night was thatit seems a little unusual to me when we have worked so hard and we have offered opportunities for all of these amendments. and we are going to offer more. My message to him is. why in the world would anyone object to delaying the cloture vote? But that is what has happened. I think that is unfortunate because I told the Secretary of Homeland Security. Judge Chertoff. the message in the newspaper is going to be: Democrats Support Cloture to Continue Debate on Immigration. Republicans Oppose ItPresident Bush Fails Again. Lets have some successes around here.
