Session #110 · 2007–09

Speech #1100045071

The legislation we put together and the amendment I offered yesterday would ensure that the sensitive uniforms worn by our agents are made in America with Americanmade components rather than outsourcing to China or Mexico. The problem with the bill in front of uis today: The vast majority of the content of these uniforms can be imported from any country in the world. China. Pakistan. Mexico. you name it. Mr. Speaker. thats not what the Members of this House want. On December 15. 2005. we overwhelmingly supported a measure stating that Border Patrol uniforms should be made in the United States. Has anyone changed their mind? I sure havent.
