The reason that is important. this socalled comprehensive reform bill that actually passed the Senate. with a substantial number of no votes. is nothing more than an extension of the current failed system. It is not a comprehensive reform of immigration at all. We had a hearing last week at my request. We had some of the best minds in America on immigration. They said our present system is completely ineffectual. I think that is fair way to summarize what they said.
