The Senate is ready to sit down with the House and work out a real solution. We need the President and the majority leader to help find the solution. We have offered practical. workable. fair solutions to solve our immigration systems. The President and the majority leader said they supported what we were trying to do. but it does not appear they are interested in real solutions. just political posturing at this stage. On the motion to proceed to this bill. I will vote aye in the hope that the majority leader will allow Members to amend it to reflect the Senates bipartisan support for comprehensive immigration reform. At the very least. there are certain key things we need to do. The fruits and vegetables in our country are being thrown away at harvest time because we do not have the people to pick the fruit and vegetables and work at the processing plants.
