I want to thank you for having this hour to address this most important topic. I also want to thank Congressman TANCREDO for his tireless efforts over about an 8year period. I was thinking the other day when the Immigration Reform Caucus first started that there was a handful of Members. and I believe it was around 1998 or 1999 when it first began. And now I think there are over 100 Members in that caucus. Well over a third of the House is in the Immigration Reform Caucus. And the issue received very little attention prior to September 11. After that the issue received greater attention.
