And times have changed. times have changed since 9/11. There was a time in our Nations history where the illegal entry problem was one of a trickle. Today. it is a flood. There were over 1.2 million apprehensions of those who entered our country illegally last year. and those were just the ones that were apprehended. Again. we do not know who all these people are. We do not know what their purpose is. We ignore border security at our own peril. I live in Texas. Mr. Speaker. one of the border States. Mexico is a very important neighbor to us.
