I thank the gentlewoman for yielding. and I certainly appreciate her leadership of what I believe is perhaps the number one issue that is facing us today. and that is clearly winning this war against terrorism. There is no doubt in my mind. and I believe no doubt in the minds of most Americans. that border security is homeland security. Mr. Speaker. we ignore our borders at our own peril. Too often even today we do not know who is coming across our borders. we do not know what their purpose is. we do not know where they are going.
