Session #109 · 2005–07

Speech #1090135722

It was unfixable. It had too many basic problems that had not been evaluated carefully. that should have been thought through carefully before it was ever filed. Senator SPECTER just left the Chamber. He supports immigration. We started in the Judiciary Committee a few months agoreally just a couple of months agoand his bill was a lot better than the bill that came out of the Judiciary Committee. The chairmans mark had a number of provisions in it. It did not have an automatic path to citizenship. for example. So we spent several days talking around at the committee. Senator FRIST said he wanted this bill on the floor a certain date.
