The Democratic leader talked about how nice it would be for someone to call 911 and get a Spanishspeaking voice. It wouldnt have been so nice to the 200.000 new citizens from Asia who came in last year because they do not speak Spanish. That is why we have a common language. My goal is that every child in America be bilingual or even multilingual. But one of those must be to learn English. and every child should learn it as soon as possible. We have a common language because we are a land of immigrants. It is our national language. A vote for the Inhofe amendment is a vote for our national language.
