That is certainly true. Emotions run very high on these issues. Some say we are a nation defined by the rule of law and that has been flagrantly violated by the 11 million people who have come to this country without conforming to the U.S. law. Many others who have come on visas have overstayed their leave. And. at the same time. we pride ourselves on being a compassionate nation. No one can deny that the United States of America is a nation built by immigrants. No one can deny that. In my own personal situation. my own family is Exhibit A.
