No one in the United States can say that it is a good policy to reward individuals and their families for breaking the law. and that it is a good policy to tell people that if you play by the rules. you will be disadvantaged. if you follow the law. you will be disadvantaged. Now. I am not talking about punishing the children or punishing immigrants. I am talking about let us stop punishing the people who play by the rules. Let us make a law statutorily under section 5 of the 14th amendment that reflects the intent of the Senators when they stated we are here to protect those who have played by the rules. are here because we choose for them to be here. and we look forward to their ancestors being here henceforth.
