The Republican plan block grants. puts a certain small amount of money for food stamps. and when a crisis occurs in a community and there is need for the bridge for those families once they can find work. we have no resources in the Republican plan. The CastleTanner bill does answer that question. In fact. even when there is a cutoff time. the CastleTanner bill allows States to provide vouchers. The CastleTanner bill recognizes that legal immigrants pay taxes and they are in fact contributors to this community and they have children. It provides a bridge for those children so that we do not become a burden on local communities. The Republican bill cuts off those who work hard in this country.
