But I would also like to make the point that harks back to something my friend from Washington said earlier. that so many opponents of NAFTA are citing things that are really todays problems. and. coming from a border State. as actually everyone in the Chamber tonight does. including the SPEAKER. coming from a border State. I think it is the status quo that needs to be changed. Right now opponents of NAFTA talk about Job loss. they talk about environmental problems. they talk about immigration pressures and population shifts at the border. That is all the status quo. That is the current situation.
