Disease is predicted to become widespread due to the lack of sanitation and proper nutrition. Medical supplies have virtually disappeared. All of this is happening at a time when preparations should be underway for the coming winter. which is only a few months away. Recent statements by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and a World Health Organization team confirm the dire situation confronting the Bosnians and those trying to help them. We cannot stress strongly enough the urgency of the matter. If major efforts to correct this situation are not taken soon. we could very easily be looking at a human catastrophe beyond even that which has already taken place.
