Session #103 · 1993–95

Speech #1030043415

Mr. Speaker. does it come as any surprise that just a few short weeks after the commotion has died down from the debate In which the Congress agreed to codify the ban on HIVinfected immigrants that the administration would allow the HIVInfected Haitian refugees held In Guantanamo Bay to enter the United States? It does not surprise me. Take away the lights and the cameras and behind the scenes you have an administration doing everything possible to circumvent the Intent of this Congress and the will of the people of this great Nation. The people we represent overwhelmIngly voiced their opposition to allowing anyone Infected with dangerous contagious diseases from entering the United States.
