Although the Serbian forces are not so organized as the murderers of the Holocaust. their attempts to expel. terrorize. and kill nonSerbs have an alltoofamiliar cast to them. Concern worldwide quite justly deepens with each passing day. and I am compelled to bring it to the attention of this body. Last August. as a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. I visited the former Yugoslavia. Our delegation was shocked by conditions there. and by the tales of horror told us by refugees from the fighting. I returned in February and what I saw and heard only increased my concern. One car mechanic told me of his confinement in a prison camp containing about 3.500 people.
