Session #103 · 1993–95

Speech #1030012073

Yes. I say to the gentlewomanand I appreciate her yielding furtherbecause it is very important. Last year alone we allowed for some 27 nongermane amendments. The gentlewoman and I both voted for those nongermane amendments to be allowed on this floor. Unfortunately. there is not going to be an immigration bill on this floor for the next 6 months. We will not have an opportunity to bring this up. Second. Health and Human Services has the responsibility to say what kind of diseases are allowed into this country. This is a Health and Human Services bill. Even though it technically is not germane. it is ethically germane. and the American people want a vote on it and they want to vote on it now.
