Mr. Chan having received his high school diploma in Mountain View. CA. in 1961. and having graduated from the University of San Francisco. in 1965. and his wife having graduated from the College of Holy Names in Oakland. CA. in 1964. Thus. Mr. Chan not only travelled frequently between Hong Kong and the United States. but spent a significant part of his life here before permanently immigrating in 1983. Once in this country. Mr. Chan and his family lived openly. making no attempt to hide their whereabouts from government authorities. Mr. Chan applied for and earned a real estate and an insurance broker license from the State of California. submitting all necessary information regarding himself to State officials.
