Do not ever get this wrong. Do not ever lose sight. When the first wave of emigration from Cuba came onto the shores of the United States. it was because they were being chased out of their own country. not people that supported Batista. people that supported Cuba were being chased out of their own country by a man who stole the revolution from the original people who conceived it. Democracy did not flourish in Cuba when Castro took power. it does not flourish today. and until he is gone. there will be no democracy. That is what this bill is all about. restoring democracy to the Cuban people and to the state. the nation of Cuba.
