National Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the magnificent culture of HispanicAmericans and the tremendous contrilhutions they have made to enrich the multicultural tradition of our Nation. There are over 20 million HispanicAmericans in the United States today. They represent. countries all over Latin America. the Caribbean. and Europe. Like immigrants from other countries around the world. they came to the United States seeking the Inalienable rights sie guarantees her citizens under the Constitution. rights which in some countries are enjoyed only by a privileged few. In return. they have onrichod the entire Nation by sharing with us the customs. traditions. and values which make up the Hispanic heritage. Freedom and independence are procious to all IIIspanicAmercans. and are not taken for granted.
