Many of those same colleagues did not hesitate to attach conditions on MFN for the Soviet Union for free immigration for Jewish refusniks. Nor did they hesitate to support trade sanctions against South Africa to deal with apartheid. Well. my question today is if those conditions were justifiable. how can any freedomloving Senator or Congressman ignore the plight and the bravery of the Chinese protesters in Tiananmen Square?
