Those were very moving times for so many of us as we saw the remarkable bravery and consistency of a small group of people. embattled as they were. looking to us. in the United States. for purpose and reinforcement. their ideals were. in fact. based in all that the United States of America stands for. We have had this obligation for a long period of time. We encouraged these people to leave and they are now fortunate enough to be able to do so. Our immigration laws are such that they cannot all come to the United States. We have very tight ceilings on immigration and consequently there is a vast number of people moving to the State of Israel. In the longterm these people carry enormous promise for Israel.
