President. I rise today to voice my grave concern about the continuing crisis in Croatia. as well as to express my profound disappointment that our Government appears content to virtually ignore the deteriorating situation. Many innocent civilians have been attached. killed or wounded. in their homes and village streets. and thousands more have become refugees within their own land. The Yugoslav Federal Army. making a mockery of its allegedly neutral role of separating the warring parties. has openly sided with Serbian nationalists in Croatia. Clearly. the use of force Is not the answer to the apparently impending break up of the Yugoslav federation.
