There is no link between the absorption loan guarantees and the Middle East peace conference and President Bush should not try to create one. It now appears unlikely that the October timeframe originally planned for the peace conference can be met. If it is delayed. will President Bush seek yet another postponement on the loan guarantees? Also. the conference may very well last months. if not years. What can possibly be gained by a 120day delay? The issue will have to be addressed by President Bush. whether he likes it or not. In the meantime. refugees will continue to arrive in Israel. Mr. President. stop your delaying tactics.
