Rozek was wounded several times. He was wounded for the last time near the German border when a tank mine exploded leaving him blind. He was sent to an English hospital where he underwent a series of operations to regain his sight. After 10 months of blindness. his sight was restored. During the months of blindness. Dr. Rozek gave a great deal of thought to what he was going to do with his life. He made the decision to emigrate to the United States and devote his life to teaching. By the time Dr. Rozek was well again. the war in Europe was over.
