Voltaire once made a very valid point by saying. "I disapprove of what you say. but I will defend to the death your right to say it." The freedom to practice the religion of ones choice is another right which identifies a society as being a form of democracy. Those who have religious freedoms have difficulty conceiving the value placed on that freedom by those who dont have religious freedoms. Many immigrants have traveled to America in order to practice the religion of their choice. Until recently. the people of the Soviet Union were not allowed the freedom to practice their own religion. however. when the fall of communism began in the U.S.S.R.. the Soviet citizens regained the right to express their religious beliefs. The recent decline of communism in the Eastern Bloc is due to the large cry for democracy by the Soviet citizens.
