StL CONTE earned the trust. respect. and admiration of his constituents as well as of his colleagues in Congress from both sides of the aisle. His parents were immigrants from Italy who settled in Pittsfield. MA. where SIL was born and attended school. SIL served with the Seabees during World War II In the Pacific theater.
